November 2018: “It has been a wonderful experience being the regional program coordinator of Reach Out and Read of Greater New York (@reachoutandreadny). Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a national non-profit organization that trains pediatricians to give brand new books to children under age 5, and provide literacy guidance to parents during well-child visits.
By encouraging parents to read aloud to their children everyday, ROR helps kids reach their full potential in school later on through early literacy! In addition to visiting the 225 pediatric clinics implementing the ROR model in the NY area, a big part of my job is community outreach. This week, I engaged children in read alouds and coloring activities at the ROR kick-off event in The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore! #earlyliteracy”
